Methodology
The methodology on which the MAMYS project is based aims to teach programming and game creation to girls in the Roma community.
This approach allows them to share their challenges and lessons learned, facilitating an experience in a virtual environment.

Mamys Project
Digital Storytelling (DST)
Digital storytelling (DST) is a methodology used to discuss various social topics with adults and youth (over 14 years old), empowering them and enhancing their digital skills.
A digital story is a personal narrative made up of images and voice recordings. The storyteller expresses their opinion, prompting the audience to reflect on the topic and work toward social change.
Digital stories are short videos, approximately 3-5 minutes long. We train participants in the history and methodology of digital storytelling as developed by storycenter.org. Additionally, we teach them to understand the seven steps of digital storytelling and discuss ethical issues. During the training, participants create their own digital stories and learn about voice recording, editing, and working with subtitles and titles in the editing program.

Toolkit
The MAMYS toolkit is a comprehensive set of resources designed to raise awareness about the importance of completing studies before marriage.
It includes practical guides, interactive activities, an engaging Scratch game, and tailored educational materials.
Aimed at educators, parents, and young people, it helps explore the importance of education in a fun, engaging, and accessible way for everyone.

Scratch
Scratch is an easy-to-use program that allows you to create games and animations intuitively. It is a great tool for learning programming, especially for young people.
As part of the MAMYS (Marry After Marrying Your Studies) project, a Scratch game can be designed to raise awareness about the importance of completing studies before marriage.
This interactive game could feature challenges and choices, showing the benefits of education in a fun and engaging way.

Purpose of the project

This project empowers young women to become independent and helps them positively influence the future of their community.
The MAMYS project contributes to the education and personal development of girls by providing role models from the Roma community who have pursued their dreams and education despite facing difficulties.
